About the Organization:

The Enabled Children Initiative (ECI) is an independent charity organization registered in the United States as a 501(c)(3) and as a charity branch of ECI USA in Afghanistan (number 465). The organization was officially registered in 2017 in the US, and in 2019 in Afghanistan.

ECI supports children in Afghanistan with disabilities with residential, educational, and income-generation support for families. Through our programs, we support children with disabilities who are the most vulnerable—abandoned by families living in extreme poverty who have no resources to cope, or unclaimed by family after the death of parents. We also work with families with disabled children, providing educational and income generation support, in order to prevent the abandonment or institutionalization of children with disabilities.
